Well, it's been an awesome month since I
launched this site and I feel so blessed by the response it's
generated! I've made a LOT of wonderful new friends and
strengthened several other songwriting partnerships, and each day gets
me closer and closer to my goals. With that in mind I'd like to
share with you some comments I wrote this morning for the "Up Close and
Personal" page on my other website, Change
Your Stars!

CLOSER and CLOSER
I
received an email from my friend, James, today and he was sharing with
me some great news. He and another friend of ours, Susie
Marshall, are partners in a
music publishing company in Nashville and they continue to make
progress in building their business inside the music industry.
James and I met by email nearly 6 years ago and shortly thereafter
started writing songs together. It was amazing to see how much we
thought alike and how well we worked together, even at a great
distance (he's in Texas and I'm in California). Together we came
to realize that our ultimate career goal is
the same and we can both see it getting closer and closer to becoming a
reality ... fulltime songwriting partners in Nashville!
Along the way we've not only developed our own partnership but we've
also created a "circle of friends" - contacts within the industry,
mostly in Nashville, that we stay in touch with regularly. This
"circle" has been very beneficial to everyone involved, and it
continues to grow on a regular basis.
Nobody becomes successful in any endeavor overnight. Nearly
everyone
who gets labeled an "Overnight Success" has quite a story to tell about
the years of hard work they've put in and the many sacrifices they've
made in order to achieve their goals. Nothing worthwhile ever
comes
easy, but with consistent effort things can become easier.
Whatever your goals are, whatever your wildest dreams may be, keep
working on them and never give up. By making progress each and
every
day, even in the smallest amounts, you'll find that all of your efforts
are paying off and you'll continue to gain the confidence you need to
keep going. John Wooden, the famous Head Coach of the UCLA Bruins
Basketball Dynasty, and 6 time Coach of the Year said,
"If you go as far as you can see you will
then see enough to go even farther."
Whether it happens later today, tomorrow, this week, this month, this
year, or at some other point in the future the achievement of that
special goal of yours will come into sight. Just keep working
hard ...
because it's getting closer and closer!

See
ya down the road!
