Your smile was so
pretty
as
you stood there.
Dark hair,
soft skin, gentle eyes.
And later,
sitting with your two
friends,
my eyes were fixed on
only you.
You sat quietly, shy
...
with lips that if
speaking of love
would do so with
softness.
I wanted to meet you,
but meeting someone
in a crowd
is
awkward for me.
And even
though your crowd
consisted of two
friends
I ran scared in the
other direction,
afraid of my feelings
for you,
never again to have
the chance
of sharing my
feelings with you.
And now,
as
you drive off into the
night,
I stand alone
...
not even knowing your
name.
