Where
Are You?
I haven't slept very
well lately,
thinking
of you,
and wondering
why
we're not together.
I lie here in
your bed,
a
candle flickering
from
a nearby chair,
your cat
watching me
curiously
from across the room.
But ...
where
are you?
I need you by me
to
touch
and
know that you're there.
Instead ...
I only know emptiness
in your bed
beside
me.
Your pillow
unused,
even
by me,
waiting
patiently for
your return.
But my patience
is not like your pillow's.
I
can't wait.
